Who are Stithians Beaver Scouts?
Stithians Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between 6 and 8 years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Stithians Beaver Scouts at 5¾ years old.
Stithians Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, arts and crafts, going outside, going on visits, helping others and earning lots of badges.
They meet together once a week in Stithians Beaver Scout Colony at the Stithians Resource Centre.
Beavers can move up to the next section, Stithians Cub Scouts, between the ages of 8 and 8½ years old.
Beaver Scouts also take part in sleepovers. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home.
Sleepovers take place in suitable buildings, often Scout centres, for 1 night only. Beaver Scouts do not camp overnight under canvas.
